Interlagos Market Introduction
West Chester, PA- August 30, 2021 – Altus Spine, a leader in the development and innovation of medical devices used in spinal correction surgery, announces the market introduction of the advanced Interlagos MIS Retractor System. The system is a pedicle based lumbar access system designed to support TLIF procedures. Working in concert with the Altus Spine decompression and implant systems, the Interlagos MIS Retractor System provides simple, patient-mounted access for posterior lumbar MIS fusion procedures.
Michael Fitzgerald, President and CEO, states “The Interlagos Retractor System is a logical expansion of the Altus Spine MIS portfolio. It provides atraumatic access and works in harmony with our MIS decompression instruments, Steerable TLIF Inserter, and MIS Pedicle Screws providing surgeons with a complete solution to perform effective TLIF procedures.”
Interlagos MIS Retractor System utilizes patient-mounted blades with pedicle anchors allowing for intraoperative distraction and compression. Along with the unique distal toe and telescoping capability of the medial blade, the system provides a highly versatile access solution for 1- and 2-level procedures.
“The Interlagos Retractor provides excellent exposure to safely perform Minimally Invasive TLIF procedures with minimal soft tissue disruption,” says Brian Bankoski, Vice President of Engineering. “The toeing and telescoping medial blade along with the secondary tissue blades allows for quick positioning of the retractor to gain optimal exposure; and the powerful distraction capability allows for effective decompression and stabilization of the space.”
The Interlagos MIS Retractor System main blades accommodate a wide range of patient depths with 50mm through 100mm blade lengths available. The system provides a complete TLIF access solution with targeting needles, advanced medial blades, secondary tissue blades, and a disposable lighting system available.
